I believe there was a proposed map posted some moths ago, but I neglected to save it.

There was a discussion of whether to include the two Showcase team ups in a proposed volume 2 as I recall.

I can't find it in the old Archives threads.

Is the thread still up?

Does anyone still have a link/copy of the thread -- or at least the "maps"?

Thanks in advance

I think volume one covered

Not sure if it was the consensus at the time, but I recall favoring the proposal that the two Showcase issues should go in the second volume of the Hourman Archives, mainly because of the better fit that way, but also because they'd help its sales.

Thank you Mr. Darcy!!

I thought it was yours.

I've been saving copies of these and I can't believe I didn't save the Dr. Fate one!!

I recall you reorganized both ways for Showcase.

Thanks for the initial research/hard work . . . and for the re-post.

My vote is that they go in both. After all, we can't assume that Dr. Fate fans are going to buy the Hourman Archives (if there ever is an Hourman Archives), nor should they be forced to. Each archive line should stand alone, not be abridged to another series.

You have a good point about not forcing Dr. Fate fans who are not Hourman fans to buy an Archive they don't want and vice versa, but for those of us who would buy both, it means 52 pages of duplicate material! (It also means no room for those cool Flash back-ups in Dr. Fate Vol. 2.)

Thanks for the maps Owen.
Personally, I think we'll see a GA Hawkman as the next "GA" title. Although I would like to see another Flash beforehand, heck we already have two Green Lanterns.
Spectre should be good, I hope it's not late.

I am against repeating material in archives, to the extent possible. There's more than enough material waiting to be reprinted, without introducing further delays by repeating material from archive to archive.

I have no desire to buy either GA Dr. Fate or GA Hourman, but if the two SA teamups appear in one of those, then I will most likely buy it. I'd rather not see archives bridge GA to SA this way. It worked for Black Canary, but that had Infantino artwork on the GA material, so it wasn't that bad. I would guess the GA Fate and Hourman stuff is more traditional, crudely drawn GA material. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't have this particular issue in front of me, and can't dig it up at short notice, but I seem to recall it WAS titled "The Hour Hourman Died". I also know it was reprinted in one of the early 1970s JLA issues, possibly one of the 100 page giants.
I would assume anybody who likes the forthcoming Spectre Archives, on an artistic level at least, would like an Hourman Archive, as both were drawn by the same artist - Bernard Baily, perhaps one of DC's better artists of the early 1940s.

With only two volumes in each series, Dr. Fate and Hourman are two titles that cry out to be completed and completed quickly.

I completely agree. Each should be done as the Kirby Challengers material is being done--announced as two-part series and issued fairly close together. That ought, in my view, to be the standard procedure for "done-in-twos".
I'm hoping we'll see the completion of Starman this year or next, as well.

Thanks, Lee. I don't have that comic and it was the GCD that said the story was untitled.
